This is an iconic moment for Pia Wurtzbach, and the Philippines-and Team Storyscope helped make it even more special for Filipinos.
In March 2019, we held a 2-day celebration in Manila consisting of an exclusive event for the media and a mall launch event for the general public to give Filipinos the first look at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s premier Filipino wax figure.
To make the mall event much more exciting, we set up a partnership between MTHK and another existing Storyscope client, Cathay Pacific. We launched a 3-day travel sale to encourage more Filipinos to book a trip to Hong Kong and visit the premier Filipino wax figure in MTHK.
Part of this collaboration was to have them as the official airline partner for our influencers who were to fly to Hong Kong to witness the reveal of Pia’s wax figure. They got to experience Cathay Pacific’s premium offerings at the Cathay Pacific Lounge in Ninoy Aquino International Airport and The Bridge Lounge in Hong Kong International Airport.
We also arranged a partnership with another major Hong Kong travel brand, Klook, as the official booking platform for the #PiaMadeIconic trip. In addition to the main event, Klook also prepared various activities for our influencers-from art sessions and picture-taking, to dining experiences at Michelin-rated restaurants. Together, we were able to make their stay more worthwhile.
Great stories like this deserve to be heard. As a PR company with expertise in brand strategy, social media marketing, public relations, content creation, and campaign development, we felt that these channels-partnerships, influencers, events, and print and online articles-were the best way to let Filipinos be part of this story. As it turned out, the MTHK team saw a substantial rise in visits from the Philippines just about 2 months after we started our collaborative efforts.
